Sometimes, words just aren’t enough. Sometimes, you need something with a little more oomph to really get the point across. And what better way to get a point across than with

I literally  use GIFs all the time to really communicate how I’m feeling or what I’m trying to say in a way that text just can’t.

Well… since I just finished publishing my full review on You Should See Me In A Crown,  let’s take it a step further and review it using only 5 GIFs, shall we?

Prom. Prom is the center of everything in this story. The school, the students, hell, everyone in the town is obsessed with prom. It’s only fitting that this shall be my first GIF.

Lizzie’s entire life has been about getting great grades and being an even greater band geek. It keeps her off the radar  and mostly unseen by the student body populace (something she quite prefers), and she thinks it’s her only ticket to being something great.

This GIF speaks volume for many reasons. Not only were we dealing with some important “coming out” fears in the book as far as sexuality goes,  but Lizzie is also coming out as the person she was always meant to be. She’s no longer hiding behind the shadows, hoping to be unseen, she’s showing everyone the real Lizzie.

Lizzie+Mack= Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

The Queen is finally realized, and everyone is there to witness her birth.

I don’t believe in fairytales, in love at first sight and all that, but for just a second, I think this girl and those eyes and the way her freckles dot the entire expanse of her face are cute enough to make a believer out of me.

“Well, I for one,” she says as she takes a couple of steps backwards towards the doors to the parking lot, “think there might much more to you than meets the eye.”

Without thinking or breaking eye contact, I dart my tongue out and quickly lick away the batter. And suddenly, neither of us is laughing. At once, I’m both terrified and thrilled about what that might mean.

You can never be too careful when it comes to eating white folks food.

-Lizzie (and it was freakin’ hilarious!!!!)

I don’t know if I’m running away from something or to it. All I know is that I’m tired, so incredibly tired, of having to run at all.
